Remember…

To name a few. Not just a different metal or dial color but real exciting stuff: Who else did anything as diverse in a relatively short period? Seems impossible. - The Trilogy Set: Astolabium, Tellurium, Copernicus. Probably the pinnacle to own. - Hourstr

2000’s Gigante

This one in a platinum edition of 200 pieces. There was also a RG version in slightly higher numbers. 40mm in size. Purchased in April 2005. It is the anthracite dial on this one that is killer. Ref 279-50

Came back to this one from the collection recently...

After sitting in the safe box for quite a few years, I pulled this one out recently. The case design is a bit dated with the smallish crown perhaps but at 40mm fits me well. The model is the San Marco Gigante reference 279-50 which at the time reflected t

All in the family...

Which one of these would be the 'black sheep' amongst the group? I like them all for different reasons. + The Monopusher is so elegant. I would prefer it in white gold though. This piece reminds me of the stuff UN used to make -- I have been disappointed

Ulysse Nardin San Marco Gigante

The case design starts showing its age, but the dial still looks awesome! I think UN should consider revisiting this model in their modern collection... Thanks for looking!

Still a favourite...

The UN San Marco Gigante in platinum. Ref 279-50 The dial is the star of the watch in anthracite with lovely guilloche. Produced in a reasonably limited edition of 200 pieces nearly 20 years ago. I should wear it more often. Dave

Thank you Nico. Agree it doesn't look large at all, I just have to decide if it is not too small :-)

It is more the matter of getting used to it, since the watch is decisively small when put next to its modern counterparts. After all, not too long ago 36mm was considered a perfectly normal size for a men's watch. I have an UN from early 2000's that is na

My journey to post #1000...

Friends, It has taken me quite a few years to get to 1000 posts. As I hit 999 a week or two ago, I contemplated what to post for #1000. I decided to describe my journey with watches over 30 years, and the influence of ThePuristS.com and PuristSPro.com ove
